Inclusion Statement

For Performers, Traders, Volunteers, and Participants

World of Love Festival is a non-political, non-religious event created to bring people together through music, food, dance, and creativity. Our mission is to celebrate the richness of cultures from across the globe – with respect, curiosity, and a spirit of togetherness.

We recognise that the world is experiencing deep and painful conflicts. These feelings are valid, and we understand they arise from real and personal experiences. Some international tensions are so severe that they even affect global sporting events, where national symbols may be restricted due to conflict or sanctions. These realities are a reflection of the complex world we live in.

However, World of Love Festival does not represent politics, governments, or religions. It is a celebration of people and culture. We exist to bring individuals and communities together – including those who have made new homes here in the UK – in a space that encourages pride in one’s heritage and joy in sharing it with others.

We wholeheartedly welcome all who join us in the spirit of peace, inclusion, and mutual respect. At the same time, we appreciate that not everyone may feel able to take part in an event where people from all backgrounds are invited to stand side by side. If anyone feels that this open and inclusive ethos is not something they can support at this time, we completely respect their decision not to participate.
Our doors remain open to everyone who wishes to build bridges and celebrate the beauty of our shared humanity.
No matter where you  are from, you are welcome at World of Love.

Flag Display Policy

We welcome individuals – artists, families, communities – who are part of the cultural fabric of where they live now, many of whom have made new homes here in the UK. As part of this, we allow the display of national and cultural flags, not as political statements, but as expressions of cultural identity. For many – especially those in the diaspora – a flag symbolizes language, family, art, music, and tradition. It is a personal connection to heritage, not a representation of governments or conflict.

We understand that some national symbols may cause discomfort. But we trust that all participants share our values of peace, mutual respect, and cultural appreciation.

This is a space for people – not politics. A place to share stories, not debate them. A place to honour culture, not take sides.

Flags Are Welcome When:
  • Displayed with pride as part of cultural identity
  • Used respectfully in performances, decorations, or attire
  • Shown without alteration, offensive symbols, or political slogans
Flags Are Not Permitted When:
  • Used in an aggressive, confrontational, or political manner
  • Altered to include hate speech, divisive messages, or political statements
  • Carried around the site in a way that disrupts, intimidates, or provokes
  • Positioned or waved to deliberately cause discomfort to others

Flags should remain in stalls, on stages, or as part of decor. Parade-style waving or display around the site is discouraged unless part of an approved performance.

The event team reserves the right to remove or reposition any flag display that threatens the peaceful and inclusive atmosphere of the festival.

All participants – including performers, traders, volunteers, and attendees – are expected to follow this Code of Conduct:

Final Note

World of Love is committed to providing a space where culture is honoured, identities are respected, and joy is shared. If anyone feels unable to participate in an event where people from all backgrounds are welcome to stand side by side, we fully respect their decision not to take part.

By attending or participating in World of Love, you agree to uphold the values and responsibilities outlined in this Code of Conduct.

Let this be a place where we celebrate differences – not with division, but with dance, dialogue, and deep appreciation.
